Axiomatics Announces Robust Improvements to its Data Access Filter v 1.5

Extends Database and Operating System Coverage and Enables Advanced Security Functionality

CHICAGO AND STOCKHOLM, December 10, 2015. Axiomatics today announced version 1.5 of the Axiomatics Data Access Filter, the firm’s unique solution for applying policy-based access control to the database layer. Among the new features are additional database and OS support, the ability to write, edit and maintain policies using a graphical user interface, and advanced database filtering for INSERT and UPDATE statements.

The robust feature set in the Axiomatics Data Access Filter provide further advancements over traditional security approaches such as encryption, tokenization or database activity monitoring. These, and many legacy, static masking techniques are challenging to both deploy and maintain. And in today’s data-heavy, mobile world, these approaches can rarely be implemented to capture the complexity of real-world business rules. The Axiomatics Data Access Filter delivers fine-grained authorization, advanced data filtering and dynamic data masking and a central point of control and scalability for the long-term.

Large enterprises require a layered approach to database security to ensure that confidential data is protected from unauthorized access, to protect IP, to meet compliance mandates and to reduce data leakage. The Axiomatics Data Access Filter applies access policies to database requests, thereby ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed to read and write data, and to further protect this data by dynamically masking or redacting it so that sensitive data is never exposed.

“Our customers have asked for the capability to perform more advanced database functions within the Axiomatics Data Filter. With this release and our increased footprint to support additional databases and operating systems, the solution becomes more powerful in meeting complex data access control needs,” says Pablo Giambiagi, head of the Axiomatics Research and Development team.

The Axiomatics Data Access filter – an Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) approach to databases – provides enterprises in the Fortune 1000 and government agencies a unique way to protect the data layer.
