Cybersecurity Week in Luxembourg

A week-long cybersecurity event in Luxembourg included Axiomatics’ participation in the PwC Cybersecurity Day last Thursday. Luxembourg City was a terrific host and provided a great setting to highlight the great effort on security topics that this city and country are working on.

PwC put together an excellent agenda of local and international speakers on a range of topics focusing on cybersecurity issues of today as well as an emphasis on identifying the next level of innovation to address future challenges. Kudos to Vincent Villers, Edouard Nollet, and the entire PwC team for their efforts in making this a successful event.

I especially enjoyed the sessions from Maxime Clementz, of PwC, on the latest trends in cyber attacks; Vincent Villers sharing some key findings from the PwC state of information security 2018; Graham Cluley, independent security expert, in a lively presentation on the three things that should keep you awake at night; and Guy-Philippe Goldstein, Wikistrat, on a look ahead to cybersecurity in the 2020’s.

Axiomatics was invited by PwC to speak as one of their “ten cybersecurity next generation companies”, selected out of more than 70 nominees. The other honorees included Alsid, BioCatch, Cyber Trap Software, CYR3CON, Excalibur, L7 Defense, SQR Systems Limited, Stratus Digital Systems Inc. and Wallix. Along with these cybersecurity and IAM disruptors, I had the opportunity to discuss how Axiomatics’ dynamic authorization solutions are used by Global Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies to enable digital transformation and meet the complexity of today’s access control, including securing big data initiatives.

The week’s events culminated in a Gala dinner and award ceremony on Friday evening. Before the dinner, Jonathan Prince, co-founder of Digicash, was the emcee for the evening and we heard some interesting talks from a digital security manager at Airbus, a former IDF General on cyber warfare threats, the CEO of SECURITYMAIDEN.LU, a researcher at CIRCL and PwC.

Congratulations to the organizers of all the events last week and in particular to the PwC team for their part in the extravaganza. It was a great learning experience and opportunity to participate in a community that is tackling the serious cybersecurity issues of today and tomorrow.
