Foundations
Axiomatics solutions are built on a number of key technology foundation pillars, that when brought together, offer the most effective authorization suite of products currently available on the market.
Externalized authorization
Applications with non-trivial authorization requirements force developers to invent elaborate schemes to control who should get access to what, why, when and how. System configurations tend to become equally complex. A good portion of development as well as operational efforts are therefore spent on access control. Externalizing authorization from applications therefore brings many benefits.
Fine-grained authorization
Fine-grained authorization enables object level security. For data stored in tables, it means row-level or cell-level security, for data or meta data entered in forms, it means field-level security, and so on. But fine-grained can also refer to elaborate context-related conditions and constraints, such as time or geographical limits for permitted access.
Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC)
ABAC is a "next generation" authorization model that provides dynamic, context-aware and risk-intelligent access control. It helps achieve efficient regulatory compliance, effective cloud services, reduced time-to-market for new applications, and a top-down approach to governance through transparency in policy enforcement.
100% pure XACML
Solutions from Axiomatics are based on the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) OASIS standard. XACML is the only model that offers a standardized way to achieve effective authorization. Authorization decisions determine what a given user or process is allowed to do in a specific context.
